Accessing NIC Network Drives - PC

NIC provides you the ability to access network drives from off campus.  To map a drive (1) VPN must be installed and setup on your computer and (2) If you do not have VPN installed you can access the VPN instructions from our IT Help Desk web site here. 

To map a network drive:

• Open File Explorer or My Computer
• Right-click on Computer (Windows 7) or My PC (Windows 8) or This PC (Windows 10) 
• Select Map Network Drive…
• In the Map Network Drive window, next to Folder type the following: 
  • For your H: Drive (department):  \\vault.nic.edu\dept
  • For your U: Drive (personal):  \\vault.nic.edu\user\username
  • For the Temp drive: \\vault.nic.edu\temp
  • For Course Content:  \\coursecontent.nic.edu\nic\username
  • *where username is your MyNIC username
• Click Finish.
• Your mapped drive should appear in File Explorer/My computer. 
  • *If asked to sign-in, use your MyNIC credentials. 
• Repeat Steps #2-4 for each drive you need to map.
