BeyondTrust - Privileged Remote Access: Vendor Access

Overview

This document covers how to log into NIC resources using BeyondTrust Privileged Remote Access

Procedure - Logging in

  1. Open the NIC BT PRA console:  https://nic.beyondtrustcloud.com/console
  2. Click on the Authenticating Using drop down and select SAML Credentials and click on LOG IN
  3. Enter your Username and password provided by North Idaho College.  The account UPN should end in @NIC.EDU
  4. If you do not have a login, notify the NIC Helpdesk at 

Jump Session (remote desktop)

  1. You should be presented with all of the Hostname/IP devices that have been assigned to you
  2. Clicking the server you want to remote into and a Window will slide in on the right with the Jump box.  Click on the Jump box

  1. On the top left of the window under File Transfer you should see a key icon.  

  1. If the key icon is greyed out, click on the Ctrl-Alt-Del icon (CAD) so that the username/password fields are available.
  2. Click on the Key icon to pick what set of credentials are available to you for logging into the server if your nic account does not have access to log into the server console.  In this case, there are two accounts that are available for the vendor to use

  1. Select the appropriate account and click OK
  2. When you are finished with your console session, log out of the console to close the session vs just click on the X to End the Session.  

Copying Files

If permitted, you can copy files to and from the server.  Generally, NIC limits what folders are available to you for transferring files.  You can always copy files to and from file transfer folder in the SCREEN SHARING session.

  • Click on the FILE TRANSFER menu item if available

  • The designated file transfer folder will appear.  You can navigate through the various folders presented to you and upload/download files using the icons
