This article will cover using the A8 I/O door controller for wet wiring 12/24v locks versus using a separate Altronix relay cabinet. This is fine for buildings with probably less that 10 doors. If we are focusing primarily on external doors access this seems adequate for quite a few buildings. All of our Von Duprin locks use 24 volts so we will need to adjust our A8 I/O to be able to do this.
Here is how to set the A8 IO jumpers:
- On the A8 I/O move jumper 3 to position 2-3
- On the A8 I/O move jumper 5 to position 2-3
- On the A8 I/O move jumper 7 to position 2-3

Here is how to wire the door lock
Both relays work as door lock relay contacts. Local alarm not used in that case but pins 5-6 and 7-8 can double current capacity for firing door lock (nominally 4A total)

Here is the power leads from the A8 I/O controller to lock.
