Door position sensors, often called contact sensors or door position switches, monitor whether a door is open or closed by using a sensor body and a magnet to create or break an electrical circuit. Our Touchnet A8 I/O controllers are only working with the Normally Closed (NC) type that creates a circuit through a magnet. I do have DPS sensors that have option for Normally Closed or Normally Open (NO) so pay attention to the 3 wires.
Our 3-wire magnetic door sensor setup with brown, black, and white wires, the brown wire is for the Normally Open (NO) circuit, the black wire is for the Normally Closed (NC) circuit, and the white wire is for the Common.
We use NC configuration. So connect the black and white to Door Interface block pin 1 and 2.
