NIC Wireless Access

NIC Students/Faculty/Staff

  1. Choose the NIC-Cardinal-Wifi network
  2. When prompted, enter your NIC credentials

Guests

  1. Choose the NIC-Public-Wifi network
  2. Open a web browser
  3. Read the agreement and click Continue to the Internet

 

Connect to Cardinal WiFi on iOS devices, Android devices, and Chromebooks

iOS Device

  1. Click Settings
  2. Click Wi-Fi
  3. Select NIC-Cardinal-WiFi
  4. Enter your NIC username and password
    • Note: Do not use your e-mail address
  5. You will be prompted for a certificate - Click Trust

Android Device

Note: Please be aware that these options can vary depending on what OS your Android device is running.

  1. Click Settings
  2. Click Network & Internet
  3. Click Wi-Fi
  4. Select NIC-Cardinal-WiFi
  5. For Identity type in your NIC username
    • Note: If your NIC username does not work, try your username@nic.edu
    • Note: If you have an option for Anonymous Identity, leave it blank.  If it has the word Anonymous showing below Anonymous Identity, please delete the word if able. 
  6. For Password, type in your NIC password
  7. For CA Cert, select Do Not Validate
    • If you do not have an option for Do Not Validate, select Use System Certificate and enter nic.edu for the domain.  If that does not work, select Trust on first use.
  8. Connect to the NIC-Cardinal-WiFi

Chromebook

  1. Click on your wireless settings icon
  2. Select NIC-Cardinal-WiFi
  3. Change EAP Method to PEAP
  4. Change EAP Phase Two Authentication to mschapv2
  5. Click Server CA Certificate and select Do Not Check
  6. For Identity type in your NIC username
    • Note: Do not use your e-mail address
    • Note: If you have an option for Anonymous Identity, leave it blank
  7. For Password, type in your NIC password
  8. Click Connect

If you continue to have trouble signing in but have all of the settings correct, try nic\username in the username field.
