Access Voice Mail

  1. From your phone:
    • Press the Messages button.
    • Enter your voice mail PIN number followed by #
    • If you enter your PIN number incorrectly, you will need to:
      • Enter your ID (4-digit extension) followed by #.
      • Enter your PIN again.
  2. Away from your phone:
    • Dial ext. 7777.
    • Press *.
    • Enter your ID (4-digit extension) followed by #.
    • Enter your PIN followed by #.
  3. Off campus:
    • Dial 208-769-7777.
    • Press * to log in to voice mail
    • Enter your ID (4-digit extension) followed by #.
    • Enter your PIN followed by #.

Main Menu Options

  1. The following are the main menu options:
    • 1 – play new messages
    • 2 – send a message
    • 3 – review old messages
    • 4 – setup options
    • 6 – list meetings
    • 0 – help
    • * – exit

Check Messages

  1. New messages will auto play. 
  2. Message options:
    • 1 – repeat
    • 2 – save
    • 3 – delete
    • 4 – reply
    • 5 – forward
    • 6 – mark new
    • 7 – skip back
    • 9 – message properties
    • 0 – help
    • * – cancel playing messages

Change Greeting

  1. Log in to voice mail.
  2. Press 4 for Setup Options.
  3. Press 1 to Change Greeting.
  4. Your current greeting will auto play.
  5. Press 1 to re-record your new greeting.

Change PIN

  1. Log in to voice mail.
  2. Press 4 for Setup Options.
  3. Press 3 for Preferences.
  4. Press 1 to change your PIN.

Set Alternative Greeting

Your alternative greeting can be used for when you are out of the office (conference, vacation, etc.) and it does not require you to change your standard greeting.  Alternate greetings automatically expire on the date/time you have set unless you login and turn it off manually.

  1. Log in to voice mail.
  2. Press 4 for Setup Options.
  3. Press 1 to Change Greeting.
  4. Your current greeting will auto play.
  5. Press 2 to turn on your alternative greeting.
    • If you already have an alternate greeting in place, Press 2 to turn it off.
    • If you do not have an alternate greeting in place, Press 1 to set the end date and time.
      • Press 0 to set the end date to later the same day.
      • Press 1 to set the end date to tomorrow.
      • Press 2 to set for 2 days from now, 3 for 3 days from now, and so on.
      • Press 9 to enter a month and date:
        1. Enter the month from 1 to 12 then press # (for October enter 10#).
        2. Enter the date from 1 – 31 then press # (for the 5th enter 05#).
        3. Enter the time (ex:  8am or 8pm enter as 800).
          1. Press 1 for a.m.
          2. Press 2 for p.m.
  6. Press 1 to record or record your alternate greeting.

Empty a Full Voice Mailbox from Your Phone

You can only delete one message at a time. You don’t need to listen to a message in order to delete it. 

  1. Log in to voice mail.
  2. Press 3 to review old messages.
  3. Press 1 for saved messages.
  4. Press 3 to delete a message. Press 3 again when the next message header plays, etc.

After deleting messages, you must erase them completely from the phone system to gain back storage space.

  1. Press 3 to review old messages.
  2. Press 2 for deleted messages.
  3. Press 2 to erase.
  4. Press 1 to delete permanently.
  5. Press 1 to delete only voice messages.
  6. Press 2 to delete all messages.

To prevent unwanted voice mail messages from accumulating in your voice mailbox, routinely move the messages into your Outlook Deleted Items folder. They will automatically be deleted from the voice mail system.
